In years past I was "Premier Exec" (50,000 miles) on United Airlines. Knowing the airline mileage game, when it is not inconvenient I book a longer multi-leg trip if the price is comparable. This allows for more miles, in case I would start frequent travel again.
In 2012, I made a mileage run vacation to qualify for Premier Silver.
In 2013, I took mini vacations with mileage runs that totaled about 115,000 flight miles.
In 2014, I am going to spend more going where I want, when I want.

Red Eye to NYC
Complimentary upgrade on red eye to New York City. Dinner of cold salads was just right. This bumped me into 60,000 United Airlines PQM for 2013.
